PATPASS
Portable Appliance Testing
Dont Risk It, Test It!
ABOUT
As a family run company that has been in the PAT Testing industry since 2003.
We understand the importance of making sure your business is fully compliant with all Health and Safety requirements.

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing) is an essential H&S requirement ALL businesses must comply with, as in the event of an accident or incident involving electrical appliances you will need to produce proof that the appliance has been PAT Tested. Failure to do so could result in prosecution and invalidate your insurance.
This is why we fully understand the importance of getting this done correct in a safe, timely and reliable manner, so you can focus on what you do best, which is growing your own business.

Working Practice Assessment for COVID-19
As everyone is now aware Covid-19 is a new illness that can affect the lungs and airways and is
caused by the virus known as Coronavirus.
Symptoms can be either mild, moderate, severe or fatal which is why we have to keep sanitized and
apply by the advised government ruling of safe distancing.
When visiting our customers to carry out Portable Appliance Testing, we aim to keep everyone safe
and free from any chance of transmitting the virus.
Our Engineers will always have hand sanitisers gels/sprays which will be used before entering the
building and when leaving. Where possible they will wash hands with soap and hot water if supplied
by our customer for 20 seconds as advised on entering the premises and dried on paper towels
which are binned after use. They will have their own sanitizing gels or sprays to kill off all Bacteria.
Should our Engineers cough or sneeze they are requested to use tissues and follow the Catch it, Bin it,
Kill it rule to avoid touching face, eyes, nose or mouths with unclean hands. Once again Hand
sanitisers would be used,
Our Engineers will also wear face masks whilst on customer premises if requested to do so we do
not advise the wearing of gloves as we feel it is a safer way to stringently clean hands at all times.
However, should they feel the need to wear gloves for certain areas they are supplied with them.
These will be removed and disposed immediately after use following the correct procedure and
again the use of the hand gels will be needed to cleanse the hands thoroughly
Social distancing will always be adhered to as advised by the Public Health Agency. It may mean that
should we require to test an appliance that a person is near to we may respectfully ask that they
step away for the period of testing in safety. We would do this with as little disruption as possible to
the customers daily work but it would be in the safety of all concerned to keep the social distancing
requirements.
On contacting customers to arrange testing of their appliances we will require confirmation that
social distancing is also being carried out to keep not only your premises safe but our Engineers safe
from this virus.
With regards to reports and certificates in the interest of hygiene again we would ask where possible
that we send them via email this would then reduce the paper contact.
In these unprecedented times we will actively play our part in reducing risk to employees and
customers alike.

FIXED WIRE TESTING
What is involved in fixed wire testing?
Fixed wire testing involves the inspection and testing of all the electrical installations in a building to ensure they are safe and compliant with regulations. This includes checking main panels, distribution boards, lights, plug sockets and air conditioning. Testing involves visual inspections and electrical tests on all systems in the building.
MICROWAVE LEAKAGE TESTING
This was once part of every standard PAT Test as an industry standard though has since been removed due to it not technically being related to "electrical safety".
That being said, considering that microwave leakage potentially exposes the user to high levels of radiation which can cause major health problems, periodic testing of emissions shouldn’t be ignored.
This is why we include Microwave Leakage Testing as part of our standard Pat Testing services at no extra charge.
